Creative Literacy For Children

Working with Alvord and Riverside Unified school districts, the Inlandia Institute developed a program that helps teachers maximize children’s creative potential, critical thinking skills, and critical verbal literacy through literary programming including: story telling, performance, listening to language through music, visual language, creative writing, and narrative digital photography and film activities that recognize children’s different abilities, talents, needs, learning styles, interests, and cultural background.

Educator Julianna M. Cruz, a Riverside Unified School District teacher at Victoria Elementary School in Riverside, has developed a sample creative writing curriculum for area educators.
