The Tortoise and the Hare Race Again

Dan Bernstein
Illustrated by Andrew Glass

Ever since the lazy hare lost the Great Race, he has had trouble getting any kind of respect. He is taunted by Pete R. Rabbit, ridiculed by Stu Rabbit, and mocked by Hare E. Plodder, the slowest rabbit around. Not even Rabbit Foote, the luckiest rabbit in the world, has a kind word to spare for Hare. Meanwhile, the champion tortoise regrets ever beating the hare. He can’t stand the amount of press and attention he is getting; he just wants to return to his quiet life at at the shell station. It seems that a second race would benefit both parties...if only the lazy hare could resist napping.
